About Shihan

Shihan Gary Hellman has been training in the martial arts for over 25 years.  He is currently the head instructor at Tiger Schulmann's Karate in Clearwater, Florida.  Hellman is known as Shihan to his students and holds a sixth degree black belt.  He still trains under the direction of Master Danny "Tiger" Schulmann and has passed his knowledge on to thousands of students of his own.  Shihan Hellman lives in Clearwater, FL with his wife, Denise, and their two children.  Steven and Amanda.

A Superhero to His Students

Some karate instructors have entered the teaching profession on a part-time basis.  Others have made teaching their lifetime career.  Because Shihan has dedicated his life to karate, his knowledge and expertise has not only made him a role model, but also somewhat of a superhero to his students.
